The cuisine of Costa Rica is known for being quite soft and tasty, including many fruits and vegetables. The main accompaniment consists of rice and black beans, which, in many homes, is eaten in three meals a day not only in Costa Rica but also in other Central American countries.
A much loved dish by the Costa Rican people is the filet grilled mahogany.
Music of Costa Rica is represented by musical expressions as tambito, parrandera, waltz, bolero, cuadrilla, calypso, chiquichiqui, ment. All of them arising from the migration processes and historical exchanges between Indians, Europeans and Africans. Some typical instruments are quijongo, marimba, the ocarinas, bajo of cajón, Sabak, caña flutes, accordion, mandolin and guitar. A well-known singer there is Gabriela Ximenes with his bande pagoda.
