The Costa Rican national football team, nicknamed La Salle, is the national team of Costa Rica and is controlled by the Costa Rican Football Federation. Costa Rica is the third most successful team in CONCACAF after Mexico and the United States. They are clearly the most successful team in Central America, having qualified for three World Cups, reaching the eighth-finals on his debut in the World Cup in Italy in 1990 and imposing a solid showing in 2002, where they were placed the same group of eventual champions Brazil and third placed Turkey. In 2006, Los Ticos qualified by winning goals in 8000 very ending of 32 teams.
